JOURNAL - MEET METRIC!
THE POWERFUL LANGUAGE OF CONNECTION
Metric is more than just a seating unit;
it is a design language that sets the stage for encounters, ideas, and emotions to converge.
Designed by Alp Nuhoğlu, Metric was introduced for the first time during Clerkenwell Design Week
2025, coinciding with the opening of B&T Design's new London showroom and marking the brand's
30th anniversary. With its sculptural form, soft curves, and strong lines, it brings not only a visual
presence but also a sense of depth to any space. Connection here is not merely a structural
concept, but an invisible thread running between people, identities, and moments.
Defined by a geometry shaped through color and form, Metric's modular structure allows for a wide
range of configurations. The alternating low and high backrests serve as both structural elements
and rhythm lines within the overall composition. Thanks to its customizable material options, it
adapts easily to architectural contexts while responding to individual preferences. The integrated
side table offered in Neolith, lacquer, natural veneer, or marble enhances functionality while
supporting a coherent design expression.
The transitions between modules create a subtle balance between togetherness and personal space.
This layered system becomes a ground for both spatial organization and human interaction. Metric
redefines sitting not as a static function, but as a pause, a closeness, a shared moment.
Within this flowing form, time seems to slow down. It invites us to reconsider how we relate to our
surroundings and to ourselves. Design here becomes intuitive, not just visual or physical. Soft
transitions, gentle curves, and open voids shape a space that evolves with every interaction.
Intersecting lines, overlapping surfaces, forms moving in silent rhythm...
Metric speaks the powerful language of connection.
Yo can experience Metric in both our London Showroom and at B&T House,
spaces where connection takes form and comes to life.
