Istanbul a city bursting with energy culture and history has left a profound mark on Japanese
designer Jin Kuramoto.
Arriving in Istanbul Jin immediately felt the vibrant confluence of cultures materials and people.
"Japan itself is unique in cultural transmission" he explains "but Istanbul's meeting of so many
worlds creates an inspiring landscape."
This rich atmosphere formed the backdrop for his work on Pod a modular seating series that blends
geometric shapes triangles squares into sculptural forms designed for interaction and comfort.

Jin reflects "When designing furniture I focus on how the object can inspire the user and resonate
with the space. Pod is about playful engagement how people touch sit and communicate through the
object. I want it to come alive and enrich daily experiences."
Material is at the heart of Jin's design approach. "We aim to bring out the charm of materials by
shaping cutting bending and layering them in new ways." For Pod handcrafted techniques and
thoughtful material use bring a tactile and visual richness to the pieces.
His collaboration with B&T was fueled by mutual dedication to quality and vision. Jin was drawn to
B&T's sincere attitude and the strength of their unique design approach. "It's one thing to design a
product that sells but to hold a clear vision and apply it consistently is rare. I felt this deeply
working alongside the B&T team."

The story of Pod: Quad and Tri adds a new chapter to B&T's ongoing collaborations with Mercado.
At the first edition of Mercado Design Days, B&T took part with the B&T Inspiration Lounge,
a space created to support fresh ideas and meaningful encounters. In this setting, Tri and Quad were
presented for the first time. The lounge also offered visitors a place to pause, connect, and engage
with the designs in a relaxed atmosphere.

This collaboration made the essence of Pod tangible for the first time. By bringing the dialogue
between space and design into focus, it transformed the experience into something open, shareable,
and emotionally resonant.
