METRIC MOMENTS

Some encounters happen while moving through an exhibition, pausing beside a conversation, or simply taking a seat for a moment.

Most pass unnoticed, becoming part of the rhythm of the day and leaving behind small traces.

Over four days, Mercado Design Days found its rhythm through exhibitions, talks, and gatherings. People from different disciplines met in the same space. Metric Moments, realisedas part of the B&T Inspiration Partnership, became part of this flow.

Designed by Alp Nuhoğlu, Metric formed an open meeting point at the centre of the exhibition. A place to pause, wait, talk, or simply observe what was unfolding.

Metric begins from moments like these. It does not prescribe a particular way of being used. Instead, it leaves space for every encounter to find its own form.

People came. Sat down. Waited. Talked. Listened. Met again.

The conversations held throughout Metric Moments extended this idea into different contexts. Curator Martina Muzi, Art Director and Motion Designer Antonin Waterkeyn, Designer and Artist Audrey Large, Mixed Reality Designer Taskin Goec and Creative Studio Paleworks made visible how unexpected encounters, unplanned moments and making space by letting go of control resonate within their own practices.

Over four days, Metric became a shared ground where people, ideas and different

disciplines came together.
